Heirloom has readers for legacy floppy disks, CDs and DVDs, memory cards, and other older data devices. If you’re unsure what you have, Heirloom can identify it when it arrives.
How are my recovered files delivered?

Recovered files are transferred into a secure Heirloom cloud folder, where you can download them to your computer at any time. Files are delivered exactly as they exist on the original media.
Will my recovered files open or run on my computer?

Heirloom cannot guarantee that recovered files will be executable or viewable without the proper software. Some files may require older programs or operating systems to open correctly.
What is the success rate for data recovery?

Heirloom has a high success rate, but no data recovery can be guaranteed. Media that is decades old may be degraded, corrupted, or unreadable, and only recoverable files are included in your results.
Can I send data media with my tapes, photos, or film reels?

Yes. Data media can be sent together with video tapes, photos, and film reels in the same shipment. Heirloom will process each item using the appropriate workflow.
Will I get my physical items and data devices back?

Yes. Once the transfer attempt is completed, all original media is returned to you, unless you request otherwise.
