Photo Album Scanning Service

$9.99 $20.00

Your photo albums hold decades of memories, but aging pages, adhesives, and plastic sleeves can damage photos over time. Heirloom scans every photo in your albums at 600 DPI, carefully handling sleeved or sticky pages and delivering each album as an organized digital folder—so your memories are preserved and easy to enjoy.

What types of photo albums can Heirloom scan?

Heirloom works with nearly all photo album styles, including slip-in sleeves, adhesive “magnetic” albums, and bound photo books. You don’t need to disassemble anything—albums can be sent exactly as they are.

How is photo album scanning priced?

Photo album scanning is priced by album size, which reflects how many photos the album contains. This approach is more accurate than counting individual prints and ensures fair pricing for all sizes of albums.

How are photos removed from sleeved or sticky pages?

For scanning, Heirloom carefully temporarily removes the protective plastic or overlay covering each photo. After scanning, the plastic is replaced as neatly as possible so your original album can be safely returned in its original form.

What resolution and file type will my album photos be?

Each photo in your album is scanned as its own 600 DPI JPG image, capturing fine detail and clarity. This resolution creates high-quality digital files that are easy to view, store, search, and share.

How are my scanned album photos organized digitally?

Each photo album is delivered as one digital folder per album, with every photo saved as a separate image inside that folder. This keeps your albums organized digitally the same way they were physically.

Will the exact page layout or notes be preserved?

Album scanning focuses on capturing each individual photo, not the full page layout. If preserving the exact arrangement of photos, page design, or handwritten notes is important, Heirloom recommends the Scrapbook to Digital Service, which is designed for that purpose.

Will I get my original photo albums back?

Yes. All original albums are handled with care and returned to you after scanning. Temporary handling steps—such as removing protective plastic—are done only as needed and reversed before return.
