Can you recover a scratched DVD?
Often, yes. Heirloom successfully recovers data from approximately 92% of damaged DVDs, including many affected by scratches and disc rot. We use professional recovery techniques, including disc surface reconditioning, whenever it's safe to do so. If a disc is fully cracked or likely can't be recovered, we will not add it to your quote.
Can you recover DVDs made by Legacybox, iMemories, YesVideo, and other services?
Yes. Heirloom can recover and digitize personal DVDs created by Legacybox, iMemories, YesVideo, Costco, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and many other services. We cannot copy or digitize DVDs or Blu-ray discs containing copyrighted commercial movies or television programs.
How will I receive my digitized DVDs?
Heirloom assigns every disc a unique tracking number before digitizing it. Videos are converted into Full HD (1920 × 1080) MP4 files, while any additional files are transferred into a correspondingly named digital folder in your private Heirloom cloud. You can immediately stream, download, organize, and share your files, add an optional Heirloom Flash Drive to your order, and your original discs can be safely returned.
Will my DVD videos be AI enhanced?
No. Heirloom's DVD to digital service is focused on creating a faithful digital conversion of your video into a portable MP4 format before it becomes unreadable. We don't use AI to alter or recreate your video or audio. AI enhancements and editing are best performed later by the content owner, preserving an original digital master while allowing enhanced copies to be created whenever you choose.
