Heirloom transfers data from all major memory card formats, including CompactFlash (CF), Memory Stick, SD, and MicroSD. If you’re unsure what you have, Heirloom identifies each card during inspection.

How are memory card transfers priced?

Memory card transfers are priced by capacity tier: under 64 GB, 64–256 GB, and over 256 GB. You don’t need to calculate capacity in advance—Heirloom confirms it upon arrival.

What happens when Heirloom receives my memory cards?

After your memory cards and any other media arrive, Heirloom inspects each item and emails you an itemized quote. No transfer work begins until you approve the quote.

How are my files labeled and organized?

Each memory card is assigned a unique file number. All data from that card is transferred into an online folder with the same number, preserving a clear link between the physical card and its digital files.

Will my original folders and file structure be preserved?

Yes. Heirloom preserves the entire object hierarchy exactly as it exists on the card, including folders, subfolders, and files.

Can I stream, share, or download my files?

Yes. Photos and videos can be streamed directly in Heirloom, shared with others, or downloaded to any computer. JPG images and standard video files will render on virtually any device and can be viewed directly within Heirloom. Files created with outdated or proprietary software may require legacy programs to open.

What if my memory card is blank or unreadable?

Memory cards confirmed to be completely blank are credited back to you as store credit for other services. While Heirloom has a strong recovery rate, no data transfer can be guaranteed due to age, corruption, or prior damage.

What if my memory cards are unlabeled or I don’t know what’s on them?

No problem. Heirloom inspects each card upon receipt and organizes recovered files so they’re easy to browse, stream, and share—even if nothing is labeled.

Are there memory cards that won’t be quoted or processed?

Yes. After inspection, severely damaged or non-functional cards may not be quoted. You only pay for cards with a reasonable opportunity for successful recovery.

Will my files keep their original structure?

Yes. Heirloom preserves original folders and file structures whenever possible while organizing files for easy access. However, we cannot guarantee compatibility with very outdated or proprietary file types.

What happens if a memory card is unreadable or has no files?

Heirloom inspects every card upon receipt and provides a quote before any work begins. Once approved and paid, we begin recovery. If a card is entirely blank—and did not require significant labor—you may receive a credit. However, if advanced recovery efforts were required, a credit is not available even if no files are recovered.
