Heirloom recovers data from 5.25-inch, 3.5-inch, and Zip disks, including files stored on older or obsolete systems.
What if my disks are unlabeled or I don’t know what’s on them?
No problem. Heirloom inspects each disk upon receipt and organizes recovered files so they’re easy to browse and access—even if nothing is labeled.
Are there disks that won’t be quoted or processed?
Yes. After inspection, severely damaged or degraded disks may not be quoted. You only pay for disks with a reasonable opportunity for successful data recovery.
Will my files keep their original structure?
Yes. Heirloom preserves original folders and file structures whenever possible while organizing files for easy access. However, we cannot guarantee that modern devices will have the software needed to open very outdated or proprietary file types.
What happens if a disk is unreadable or has no files?
Heirloom inspects every disk upon receipt and provides a quote before any work begins. Once approved and paid, we begin recovery. If a disk is entirely blank—and did not require significant labor—you may receive a credit. However, if advanced recovery efforts were required, a credit is not available even if no files are recovered.
