What if my discs are unlabeled or unorganized?

No problem. Heirloom inspects each disc upon receipt and carefully organizes your files so they’re easy to browse, stream, and share—even if nothing is labeled.

Are there discs that won’t be quoted or processed?

Yes. After inspection, severely damaged or cracked discs will not be quoted. You only pay for discs with a reasonable opportunity for successful transfer.

Will my files stay organized and keep their original structure?

Yes. Heirloom preserves original folders and file structures whenever possible while enhancing organization for a better digital viewing experience.

What happens if a disc is blank, scratched, or won’t play?

Heirloom inspects every disc upon receipt and provides a quote before any work begins. Once approved and paid, we begin processing. We may recondition scratched discs to recover files. If a disc is entirely blank—and did not require significant labor—you may receive a credit. However, if reconditioning or other recovery work was required, a credit is not available even if no files are recovered.

Can you recover scratched discs?

Often, yes. Heirloom successfully recovers data from many damaged optical discs, including those affected by scratches and disc rot. We use professional disc surface reconditioning and advanced recovery techniques whenever it's safe to do so. If we think a disc can't be recovered, it won't be included in your quote, and you won't be charged for it.

Can you recover discs from Legacybox, iMemories, YesVideo, and other services?

Yes. Heirloom can recover personal discs created by Legacybox, iMemories, YesVideo, and many photo labs and big-box retailers. We cannot copy or digitize commercial DVDs, Blu-ray discs, music CDs, or other copyrighted media.

How will I receive my digitized discs?

Heirloom assigns every disc a unique tracking number before digitizing it. Videos are converted to portable MP4 files, audio recordings to MP3 files, and other recoverable files are transferred into a correspondingly named digital folder in your private Heirloom cloud. You can immediately stream, download, organize, and share your files, add an optional Heirloom Flash Drive to your order, and your original discs can be safely returned.

Will Heirloom modify my recovered files?

No. Heirloom's disc to digital service is focused on faithfully recovering and converting the content stored on your original discs. We don't use AI to alter your videos, audio recordings, photographs, or computer files. Our goal is to preserve your original content in portable digital formats whenever possible while maintaining an authentic digital master.
